RESOLUTION NO. 9424 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A HONEYBEE -KEEPING LICENSE FOR <br />STEPHEN KREITZ, JR., 7801 LONG LAKE ROAD <br />WHEREAS, Ordinance 908, which amended Chapter 701 of the City Code, <br />allows for the keeping of beehives on properties zoned R-1, Single Family Residential; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, Stephen Kreitz, Jr., has submitted a license application to keep <br />and raise honeybees on his property at 7801 Long Lake Road; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with Ordinance 908, applications shall be <br />considered by the City Council after holding a public hearing; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Kreitz has paid the appropriate fees, provided the City with an <br />approved site plan and provided proof of adequate training in Honeybee -Keeping; and . <br />WHEREAS, this license may be revoked or denied by the City Council based <br />on negligence or nuisance; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council <br />does hereby approve a license for the keeping and raising of honeybees to Stephen <br />Kreitz, Jr., 7801 Long Lake Road, and that the license will be valid indefinitely <br />contingent on the following: <br />1. Hive is located in the rear yard and set back at least ten feet from the <br />property line and the house and at least twenty-five feet from any public trail <br />or walkway. <br />2. No more than four hives are operating. <br />3. Hive opening shall face in toward subject property's backyard. <br />4. A clean water source is provided on the property. <br />5. Equipment is maintained in good condition in accordance with accepted <br />best management practices. <br />6. Unused beekeeping equipment is properly disposed of or stored indoors. <br />7.
