RESOLUTION 9427 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVAL OF INSTALLING NETTING TO THE SILVER VIEW BASEBALL <br />OUTFIELD FENCE <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance at the City <br />Parks; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission as well as Public Works <br />Staff, has received several complaints over the years of softballs hitting the homes located in the <br />Silver Lake Woods Association located east of the baseball fields; and <br />WHEREAS, the Commission requested Staff obtain proposals for installing netting on <br />top of the chain link fence in the right and left outfields of the ballfields at Silver View Park; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff received two options from Century Fence of Forest Lake MN as follows: <br />1. Installing a 10' high netting on top of the chain link fence line - 30' on the west <br />fence line and 130' on the east fence line at a cost of $11,675.00 <br />2. Installing a 20' high netting on top of the chain link fence line - 30' on the west <br />fence line and 130' on the east fence line at a cost of $25,915.00 <br />WHEREAS, the Commission reviewed the proposals at the March 25th, 2021 Parks and <br />Recreation and Forestry Commission Meeting and voted to move forward with option #2. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Accepts the proposal from Century Fence of Forest Lake, MN. for the installation of a <br />20 foot netting to the outfield fence line at Silver View Park softball/baseball fields for <br />a total of $25,915.00 <br />2. Funding for this project would be taken from the 2021 Park Dedication Budget account <br />451-4470-7050. <br />3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all <br />appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. <br />4. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and <br />directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in <br />order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution. <br />Adopted this 10th day of May, 2021 <br />ATTEST: <br />(Seal) <br />���'��� plc✓ <br />Carol A.
