Item: 7A <br />MOU--NDtSVWE-W <br />PUBLIC WORKS • PARKS & RECREATION <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Date: March 25, 2021 <br />RE: Adding Netting to Silver View Ball Field Fence Line <br />Discussion/ Background <br />The Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission has received several complaints over the <br />years of softball hitting the homes at the Silver Lakes Townhome Association. <br />The Commission requested staff obtain proposals for installing netting on top of the chain link <br />fence in the right and left outfields at Silver Park. <br />The Current chain link fence running in the outfield is 10' high. <br />Staff received two options from Century Fence of Forest Lake MN as follows: <br />1) Installing 10' high netting on top of the chain link fence line - 30' on the West fence <br />line and 130' on the East fence line. At a cost of $11,675.00 <br />2) Installing 20' high netting on top of the chain link fence line - 30' on the West fence <br />and 130' on the East Fence line. At a cost $25,915.00 <br />Recommendation: <br />Public Works Staff is recommending that the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />approve the proposal to install the netting 20' high netting at a cost of $25,915.00 <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Attachments <br />
