Item: 713 <br />M0 UN D5 WEN <br />PUBLIC WORKS • PARKS & RECREATION <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Date: March 25, 2021 <br />RE: Lambert Park Hockey Rink <br />Discussion/ Background <br />Public Works Staff proposed to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission to reduce <br />the overall size of the hockey rink at Lambert Park. This would create a 3/ sized hockey rink and <br />place the pleasure rink on the North end of what is currently the hockey rink. <br />The Commission requested staff obtain proposals for reducing the size of the hockey rink and <br />replacing the hockey boards. <br />Staff received a proposal from Century Fence of Forest Lake MN to install new post and chain <br />link netting for the hockey rink for $19,935.00 <br />Staff has priced out the materials need to replace the boards for the hockey rink at a cost of <br />$10,000.00 <br />Recommendation: <br />Public Works Staff is recommending that the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />approve the proposal from Century Fence to install new metal post and chain link netting for the <br />hockey rink and approve public Works Staff to reduce and replace the hockey boards for a cost <br />of $29,935.00. <br />Respectfully submitted,. <br />Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Attachments <br />
