Item: 7C <br />MOUNDS VIEW <br />PUBLIC WORKS • PARRS & RECREATION <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Date: March 25, 2021 <br />RE: Random Park Playground <br />Discussion/ Background <br />The Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission tours various City Parks annually. In 2019 <br />the Commission toured Random Park and determined that the Playground should be replaced <br />and updated. <br />The commission requested staff obtain a proposal to replace and rehabilitate the playground. <br />With the new playground installed at City Hall in 2019, several pieces of the old playground at <br />City Hall were selected to be installed at Random Park. <br />Staff received a proposal from Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground Inc for replacing the current <br />playground and rehabilitating the current playground area at Random Park. Following is the <br />breakdown of cost; <br />1) Purchase of new playground equipment: $59,967.24 <br />2) Installing of the playground equipment: $21,865.00 <br />3) Installing of New sidewalk: $12,277.00 <br />Total $94,109.24 <br />Recommendation: <br />Public Works Staff is requesting that the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />discuss and provide Staff with further direction <br />Respectfully submitted,. <br />Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Attachments <br />
