Item: 7C <br />MovNms ViEw <br />PUBLIC WORKS • PARKS & RECREATION <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From Don Peterson — Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />Date: June 24, 2021 <br />RE: Adding Netting to Silver View Ball Field Fence Line <br />Discussion/ Background <br />The Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission has received several complaints over the <br />years of softball hitting the homes at the Silver Lakes Townhome Association. <br />The Commission approved the proposal for installing netting on top of the chain link fence in the <br />right and left outfields at Silver Park for a total of $25,915.00. <br />The City Council Approved installing the netting at the May 10, 2021 City Council Meeting. <br />Staff reached out to the contractor to schedule the installation of the netting. The contractor <br />informed staff the proposal would need to be reviewed. <br />After the contractor reviewed the proposal, staff received a revised proposal for installing the <br />netting to the outfield fence as follows; <br />1) Installing 20' high netting on top of the chain link fence line - 30' on the West fence <br />and 130' on the East Fence line. At a cost $30,700.00 <br />Recommendation: <br />Public Works Staff is recommending that the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />reject the revised proposal and request the City Council rescind resolution 9427.
