RESOLUTION NO. 9441 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO SHERRY GUNN FOR HER DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW WHEREAS, Sherry Gunn was first elected to the City Council in 1998 and served one year; and WHEREAS, she was again elected as council member in 2008 with her term starting in 2009 and served on the Mounds View City Council through 2020 for all impressive 17 years as lie longest serving female council member inn Mounds View history and third longest serving overall; and WHEREAS, she has served oil the City Council with passion, caring, and with sincere interest of always putting the community first while gaining the respect and gratitude of those who have had the privilege of working with her; and WHEREAS, she has served the City of Mounds View not only of the City Council but also many years of the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission, the Planning Commission, the Festival inn the Park Committee where she has served as both President and Treasurer, tine Police Foundation where she is the current President and the Lions Club where she has served as President; and WHEREAS, she has consistently shown her genuine appreciation to Mounds View City Staff by thoughtfully providing food aid homemade baked goods at employee functions and events; and WHEREAS; her passion for community engagcmeit became unmistakable alter nearly a decade of advocacy for tlnc "Splashdown" splash pad which was celebrated with the grand opening August 1, 2019; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of dic City of Mounds View, of behalf of Staffand the Community, expresses its heartfelt appreciation to Sherry Gunn for her many years of exemplary and dedicated service to the City of Mounds View.
