Mounds View City Council April 26, 2021 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br />1 7. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br />2 <br />3 A. 1st Quarter Report from the Mounds View Police Department <br />4 <br />5 Police Chief Harder provided the Council with a presentation on the 1st quarter report from the <br />6 Mounds View Police Department. He discussed the number of citations and traffic stops that <br />7 occurred in the first quarter compared to 2020 and 2019. He commented on how the pandemic was <br />8 impacting calls for service and traffic stops. He reported there had been a rise in auto thefts and <br />9 auto part thefts in the community. He described how the department was addressing this concern. <br />10 He discussed how the reserve unit has been assisting the department and thanked all of the officers <br />11 who participated in the Polar Plunge. He noted the great work the VCET unit was conducting on <br />12 behalf of the community. He encouraged the public to consider participating in an upcoming dog <br />13 walk with K9 Officer Niko on May 22, 2021. <br />14 <br />15 Council Member Bergeron asked how Mounds View residents could learn more about how to <br />16 protect their catalytic convertor. Police Chief Harder reported the department would be advertising <br />17 a clinic this summer. <br />18 <br />19 Council Member Bergeron thanked Police Chief Harder for his efforts regarding catalytic <br />20 convertors and how to protect Mounds View residents. <br />21 <br />22 Mayor Mueller thanked Police Chief Harder and the entire department for keeping the community <br />23 safe over the past few weeks. She stated the Mounds View Police Department means a great deal <br />24 to this community. She explained she appreciated the catalytic convertor event the department was <br />25 planning, along with the proposed dog walk because these events would build community. <br />26 <br />27 8. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />28 A. PUBLIC HEARING: Resolution 9418, Approval of the Preliminary Plat for <br />29 Anthony Properties, Second Addition. <br />30 <br />31 This item was removed from the agenda prior to the meeting. <br />32 <br />33 B. PUBLIC HEARING: Resolution 9419, Amending the PUD Narrative for the <br />34 O'Neil Property, and Approving a Development Review of Caribou Cabin, <br />35 24XX Mounds View Boulevard. <br />36 <br />37 This item was removed from the agenda prior to the meeting. <br />38 <br />39 C. Resolution 9423, Approval of Cigarette/Tobacco License for Aldo J. Olivas, <br />40 Savilo Liquor Store, 2345 County Road H2. <br />41 <br />42 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve a cigarette/tobacco license for Aldo J. <br />43 Olivas for the Savilo Liquor Store at 2345 County Road H2. He noted this was for the Vino & <br />44 Stogies site. He reported the applicant has submitted all necessary paperwork and fees to the City <br />45 and staff recommended approval. <br />46 <br />
