Mounds View City Council May 24, 2021 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />1 Council Member Meehlhause thanked the public for attending the Lions garage sale and for <br />2 supporting the Mounds View Police Foundation sale of brats and hot dogs. He commented <br />3 further on the Mounds View Police Foundation fundraiser that occurred at the Manitou Grill in <br />4 White Bear Lake. He thanked all of the residents that participated in the K-9 walk that was held <br />5 on Saturday, May 22na <br />6 <br />7 Council Member Meehlhause proudly reported MnDOT now has two signs posted for Mounds <br />8 View Boulevard on US Highway 10. <br />9 <br />10 Council Member Bergeron explained he attended a Nine North Cable meeting last week where <br />11 the group discussed production and the budget. He indicated David Rosenblum would be <br />12 retiring from Nine North. He commended Dana Healy for the changes she has implemented <br />13 since she became Director. <br />14 <br />15 Mayor Mueller reported last Tuesday she attended a Ramsey County Dispatch meeting noting the <br />16 group discussed budgeting. <br />17 <br />18 Mayor Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee met last Tuesday as well and this group <br />19 was still seeking volunteers to assist with planning this year's event. She commented further on <br />20 the schedule of events that were in place for Festival in the Park which would be held Friday, <br />21 August 201h and Saturday, August 215t <br />22 <br />23 Mayor Mueller explained the North Metro Mayors group met last Wednesday and on Thursday <br />24 the Ramsey County League of Local Government Collective Workforce met to discuss mental <br />25 health issues. <br />26 <br />27 Mayor Mueller reported the Minnesota Women in City Government Board of Directors met last <br />28 Friday to evaluate the April "MWCG Presents: Lessons Learned During the Pandemic Program" <br />29 panel discussion. The MWCG Board is currently planning their annual membership meeting that <br />30 is held during the LMC Annual Conference in June each year. MWCG Presents is planning a <br />31 special program in September regarding HR matters and a special presentation in November to <br />32 celebrate 101 years of Women's Suffrage. It was rescheduled from 2020 due to Covid-19) <br />33 <br />34 Mayor Mueller stated May 25th would mark the one year anniversary of the tragic death of <br />35 George Floyd. She commented on the media coverage this event would be getting. She <br />36 discussed the crime rates in Minneapolis and understood crime was up everywhere in the metro <br />37 area. <br />38 <br />39 Mayor Mueller reported she would be attending a Met Council Environmental Services Budget <br />40 meeting on Tuesday, May 251h <br />41 <br />42 Mayor Mueller discussed the Back to the 50's car show event that was being planned for June <br />43 17th through June 20th at the State Fair grounds. <br />44 <br />
