RESOLUTION NO. 9452 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 2020 MOUNDS VIEW <br />CITIZEN OF THE YEAR GEORGE WINIECKI <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Citizen of the Year Award recognizes ordinary citizens who <br />have demonstrated initiative to improving the community, whose service or performance exemplifies <br />the spirit of giving back and who inspire others in their volunteer efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, nominations were solicited from the public and were reviewed by the City <br />Council; and <br />WHEREAS, George Winiecki, President and Owner of Win Insurance Agency in Mounds <br />View for over 40 years, was selected for the 2020 award and meets the criteria outlined in the policy; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, George Winiecki has exemplified the courage and determination to follow his <br />values; and <br />WHEREAS, George Winiecki is a past President and remains an active member of our <br />Chamber of Commerce, was a charter member of the Mounds View Business Council, and continues <br />recommending Mounds View as a great place to live, work and play; and <br />WHEREAS, George Winiecki reaches out to City staff to understand new policies and <br />regulations and shares what he has learned to promote and support our City; and <br />WHEREAS, George Winiecki embraced the name change of Old County Highway 10 to <br />Mounds View Boulevard after he learned how negatively impacted other businesses were; and <br />WHEREAS, George Winiecki has been a keynote speaker at several community events, <br />mentored many people as they've started businesses, is a strong supporter of the Ralph Reeder <br />Food Shelf and the Alternative Learning Center, and his pride in the City of Mounds View is <br />unparalleled; and <br />WHEREAS, George Winiecki has contributed his efforts unselfishly, not expecting anything <br />in return. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does hereby <br />present the 2020 Mounds View Citizen of the Year to George Winiecki in sincere gratitude and <br />appreciation for his efforts as a long time Mounds View role model. <br />Adopted this 23rd day of August, 2021. <br />or Carol .
