RESOLUTION NO. 9470 <br />CITY OF'MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZATION TO ESTABLISH SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, the city has a long history of commitment to sustainability and <br />protecting the environment; and <br />WHEREAS, as part of this action, an ad hoc committee was formed to explore <br />and report back to the council, a recommendation on creation of a Sustainability <br />Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, the committee, consisting of residents Sherry Gunn, Gary Rundle, and <br />Marcia Weinandt along with Mounds View Department Heads Don Peterson and Jon <br />Sevald and City Administrator Nyle Zikmund concurring, recommended establishment; and <br />WHEREAS, the committee provided a detailed list of focus, all environmental, along <br />with a recommendation of 4 to 8 members, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has spent considerable workshop time on this, most recently <br />their September 7, 2021 workshop to critically review the tasks and appropriate number of <br />members. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota that authorization is granted to establish a <br />Sustainability Commission consisting of 4 to 8 members drawn for the resident <br />population with a target start date of January 1, 2022. <br />Adopted this 13t" day of September, 2021. <br />Carol Mueller, Mayo <br />ATTEST: <br />Nyle ikm d, City Administrator <br />kseal) <br />
