RESOLUTION 9477 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COST PARTICIPATION WITH RAMSEY COUNTY TO ENHANCE SAFETY AT THE <br />CROSSWALK SILVER LAKE ROAD AND BRONSON DRIVE <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Public Works Department reviewed the crosswalk at <br />Silver Lake Road and Bronson Drive for pedestrian safety and determined that this location <br />warrants additional treatments other than the painted cross walk; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County is proposing to install a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon <br />(RRFB) system at this location; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County is requesting that the City of Mounds View participate with <br />the 50% of the cost for this project; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County estimates that the City of Mounds View anticipated cost <br />would be $15,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, ongoing maintenance would be the responsibility of the City of Mounds View, <br />the maintenance would include knock downs and battery replacement when needed; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff discussed this project with Finance Director Beer and the funding for <br />this project would come from the Special Project Funds, account 480-4160-7050. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Approves the proposed cost share of 50% with Ramsey County for the installation of <br />a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon system at Silver Lake Road and Bronson Drive <br />at approximately $15,000.00. The City will be responsible for ongoing sign <br />maintenance costs. <br />2. Funding for this project would be taken from the 2021 Special Project Fund account <br />480-4160-7050. <br />3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all <br />appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. <br />4. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff are hereby authorized and directed to take <br />any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to <br />accomplish the intent of this Resolution. <br />Adopted this 11 th day of October, 2021 <br />Carol A.
