Trees:
Residents voiced concerns over losing trees due to the design of the trail. Staff informed
those in attendance that the presented tree removal plans were in a preliminary stage of
the project. Staff has since reviewed the proposed removal and is making the
recommendations as outlined on the plans (Attachment M). Upon field verifying, Staff
also recommends that fencing may be installed to signify that no construction will occur
at or around a certain tree during the project. This should help in reducing any damage
to the root system of trees that are located within the Right of Way, and potentially
outside of the work zone.
Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements.
Financial Impact: No Financial Impact to 2021 Budget.
Recommendation:
a. Staff is requesting authorization to move forward with the proposed 2022-2023
Street Rehabilitation project.
b. Staff is requesting that Council provide direction regarding the design options for
the 2022-23 Street Rehabilitation project.
Respectfully submitted,
Don Peterson
Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation
Attachments A-Q
Emails Received
Letter and Petition received 8/23
Letter and Petition received 9/7
