By allowing higher densities, <br />buildings will go up or out. As a PUD, there is flexibility from the City Code on density <br />(maximum 30 units per acre), height (maximum 3-stories), and usable open space (minimum <br />625 sq ft per unit). <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />Continue BR&E program, maximize utilization of development space and current list of available <br />sites, encourage land owners to maintain their properties, & consider residential redevelopment <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br />Planning Commission Recommendation: <br />The Planning Commission conducted a Public Hearing on October 6, 2021, recommending <br />approval (Resolution 1138-21). <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval. The text amendment requires solicitation of comments from <br />affected jurisdictions (e.g. adjacent cities), prior to submitting the amendment to the <br />Metropolitan Council.
