Mounds View City Council November 8, 2021 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />1 B. Resolution 9487, Approve the adding of a Conference Room and other City <br />2 Hall Improvements. <br />3 <br />4 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve adding a <br />5 conference room and other improvements to City Hall. He stated staff has been completing <br />6 upgrades to City Hall over the past three years, which included new walls, carpeting and painting. <br />7 He stated a new conference and training room was now being requested along with -flooring for <br />8 the fitness area. Staff discussed the expenses for the proposed improvements and recommended <br />9 approval. <br />10 <br />11 Council Member Meehlhause questioned when the work would be completed. Public Works/Parks <br />12 and Recreation Director Peterson anticipated the work would carry over into 2022. <br />13 <br />14 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9487, <br />15 Approve the adding of a Conference Room and other City Hall Improvements. <br />16 <br />17 Council Member Meehlhause stated there was a need for additional conference room space since <br />18 the building was updated. <br />19 <br />20 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />21 <br />22 C. Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 981, Regarding Business License <br />23 Expiration Date. ROLL CALL VOTE <br />24 <br />25 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council hold the Second Reading and adopt an <br />26 Ordinance that would change the business license expiration date. He reported staff was <br />27 recommending the license renewal to December 1. <br />28 <br />29 MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Meehlhause. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance <br />30 981, Regarding Business License Expiration Date. <br />31 <br />32 ROLL CALL: Bergeron/Cermak/Hull/Meehlhause/Mueller. <br />33 <br />34 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />35 <br />36 D. Introduction and First Reading, Ordinance 985, Amending the Zoning Map <br />37 for Properties at 4889, 4943 Old Highway 8 (Public Hearing to be held on <br />38 11/22/2021). <br />39 <br />40 Community Development Director Sevald requested the Council introduce an Ordinance <br />41 amending the Zoning Map for the properties at 4889 Old Highway 8 and 4943 Old Highway 8. <br />42 He noted this rezoning was being done for the new Skyline redevelopment. He reported a Public <br />43 Hearing for this matter would be held on November 22. <br />44 <br />45 Council Member Meehlhause discussed how the proposed development would fulfill a portion of <br />46 the City's need for affordable housing.
