M0U__N_DitSVVfE_W Item No: 5G Meeting Date December 13, 2021 Type of Business: Council Business Administrator review: City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9516, Technical Correction to Resolution 9490, Authorizing Four (4) Hours Holiday Pay To Part -Time Employees as Recognition of Employee Dedication in 2021 Background On November 22, 2021, the City Council passed Resolution 9490, authorizing four (4) hours vacation to regularfull and part-time employees as recognition of employee dedication in 2021. A technical correction is needed in order to grant four (4) hours of holiday time for the part-time employees, as these employees are not eligible to accrue vacation time. Discussion To correct the technical error, a revision is needed to Resolution 9490 which grants four (4) hours of holiday time for the part-time employees. Additionally, the holiday time would be retroactively reflected on part-time staff payroll sheets for November 25, 2021, a date the Parks and Recreation Department was closed. The four (4) hours would then be paid on the December 16, 2021 payroll, as not to interrupt Parks and Recreation staffing. Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Create a culture where employees desire to work. Financial Impact: Approximately $1,000 for Part Time wages. Recommendation Staff recommends approval of Resolution 9516, Technical Correction to Resolution 9490, Authorizing Four (4) Hours Holiday Pay To Part -Time Employees as Recognition of Employee Dedication in 2021.
