RESOLUTION 9538 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE 2022 PUBLIC WORKS SEASONAL POSITIONS <br />WHEREAS, resolution 5546 requires that seasonal positions must be approved by the <br />Mounds View City Council; and <br />WHEREAS, seasonal employees benefit the City by providing labor services that are relatively <br />less expensive and are available during periods of greater labor; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View Public Works Department does have a need to hire <br />seasonal employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is recommending that seasonal positions be <br />approved for the summer season of 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, for 2022, Staff is recommending that new hires start at the hourly rate of <br />$15.00/hour and returning seasonal workers be compensated at $15.50/hour. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, <br />Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The 2022 Summer Seasonal Public Works positions are approved — a total of seven (7) <br />positions. These positions would start approximately mid -to late -May 2022 and work up <br />to 119 consecutive days (17 weeks) each. <br />2. All Public Works seasonal positions will be filled with new hires starting at an hourly rate <br />of $15.00/hour: Returning seasonal workers will be compensated at an hourly wage of <br />$15.50/hour. <br />3. Each seasonal position may work up to forty (40) hours per week. The duration of the <br />Public Works seasonal positions shall not exceed 119 calendar days (17 weeks) <br />employment. <br />Adopted this 141h day of February, 2022. <br />Aw 4 <br />Carol A.
