RESOLUTION NO. 9552 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE HIRE OF NINA GARCIA <br />TO THE POSITION OF POLICE OFFICER <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has approved recruitment for the position of Police <br />Officer in the Police Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, the approved hiring procedures consist of a competitive written <br />examination, training and experience scoring, oral interviews, physical agility testing, <br />thorough background investigation, physical examination and psychological examination; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, a top candidate in the interview process was Nina Garcia; and, <br />WHEREAS, staff of the Police Department has met with Nina Garcia, and the <br />Interim Chief of Police recommends that Nina Garcia be appointed to the position of <br />Police Officer; and, <br />WHEREAS, Nina Garcia has three and a half years' Minnesota State Trooper <br />experience, staff requests to begin employment of Nina Garcia at a starting wage of 90% <br />top patrol rate. <br />2022 <br />Starting Wage After 12 Months After 24 Months After 36 Months <br />70% of Top Patrol Rate 80% of Top Patrol Rate 90% of TopPatrol Rate 100% of Top Patrol Rate <br />$28.74 $32.85 $36.95 $41.06 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of <br />Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby appoint Nina Garcia to the <br />position of Police Officer at the 90% top patrol rate of pay ($36.95/hour) as indicated in <br />the Law Enforcement Labor Services contract, with a hire date of March 14, 2022. <br />Adopted this 28t" day of February, 2022. <br />Carol A.
