Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />4 <br />5 Council Member Bergeron thanked the scouts for attending this meeting. <br />6 <br />7 Council Member Meehlhause reported the NYFS Executive Director Selection Committee has <br />8 held two rounds of candidate interviews and noted three candidates were brought back for a final <br />9 round of interviews. He explained a candidate has been recommended for the position and <br />10 negotiations were now underway for compensation and benefits. He commented further on the <br />11 services provided by NYFS to the community. <br />12 <br />13 Council Member Meehlhause asked if any of the Council Members would be attending the League <br />14 of Minnesota Cities Conference in June. <br />15 <br />16 Mayor Mueller and Council Member Hull indicated they would be attending this event. <br />17 <br />18 Council Member Meehlhause reported Amy Hodges passed away last week at the age of 94. He <br />19 noted her funeral service was held last Saturday and was very well attended by the community. He <br />20 sent his condolences to the Hodges family. <br />21 <br />22 Council Member Cermak stated CPY would be holding their Annual Luncheon fundraiser on <br />23 Tuesday, April 5 at 12:00 p.m. at the New Brighton Community Center. <br />24 <br />25 Council Member Cermak commented the Mounds View Police Foundation would be meeting next <br />26 on Tuesday, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. at Random Park. <br />27 <br />28 Mayor Mueller reported the Minnesota Women in City Government group would be making a <br />29 presentation at the League of Minnesota Cities offices on Friday, April 22. She noted the speaker <br />30 would be Professor Deb White and the speech would be on work/life balance. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Mueller explained the City's first K9 (Niko) retired in December. She noted the City had <br />33 purchased another K9 his name was Ace. <br />34 <br />35 Mayor Mueller invited the scouts in attendance to consider attending Festival in the Park, which <br />36 would be held on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20. She discussed the events that <br />37 occurred during the festival. <br />38 <br />39 B. Reports of Staff. <br />40 <br />41 Finance Director Beer reported his department was transitioning from the audit to the budgeting <br />42 process for 2023. He anticipated Aaron Nielson would be attending the April 25 City Council <br />43 meeting to provide a presentation on the 2021 audit. <br />44 <br />45 City Administrator Zikmund reported SBM Firefighter Rebecca Booker received a national award <br />46 and explained she was only the third local recipient to receive this prestigious award. He <br />
