RESOLUTION 9593 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING THE REPAIRS AND RESIZING OF THE LAMBERT PARK HOCKEY RINKS WHEREAS, at several past Parks, and Recreation and Forestry Commission meetings, discussion occurred regarding the size of the hockey rink at Lambert Park; and WHEREAS, Staff proposed to reduce the overall size of the hockey rink at Lambert Park; create a 3/ sized hockey rink, and move the pleasure rink to the North -end of what is currently the hockey rink; and, WHEREAS, usage on the rink has declined over the year and most individuals who use the rink to play hockey, will typically take the hockey nets and move them so they are on the short side or width of the rink; and WHEREAS, Staff met with vendors and contractors to get pricing on the material to replace the hockey boards and chain link netting for the rink; and WHEREAS, Staff met with vendors and contractors to obtain pricing: Home Depot — New Lumber and Hardware for Boards $ 9,503.89 Keller Fencing — New Chain link fencing and posts $24,454.00 Voss Lighting — New LED Rink Light $ 4,375.00 Lake Area Electric — Installing of rink lights $ 5,000.00 Total $43,332.89 WHEREAS, the 2022 budget, Park Dedication Fund, includes $60,000.00 to replace the Lambert Park Hockley Boards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Approves the proposals totaling $43,332.89 and 7% contingency of $3,033.00, to be funded from the Parks Dedication Fund, 451-4470-7050. 2. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
