0 LOCAL & REGIONAL CONDITIONS DRAFT COPY <br />Of the facilities listed on the previous page, the five presented below represent key indoor facilities that accommodate a <br />significant share of local and non -local indoor sports facility demand. <br />Bloomington Kennedy & Jefferson High Schools <br />The Kennedy Activity Center and Jefferson Activity Center are nearly identical. Both feature five <br />hardwood basketball/volleyball courts, each with their own LED electronic scoreboard and seating for <br />approximately 60 people. They each have a large room adjacent to the courts that can function as <br />tournament headquarters, trainer's room, or a referee hospitality site. Bloomington Kennedy's main gym <br />has seating for 1,900 people and 3 courts; for 8 courts total. Bloomington Jefferson's main gym has <br />seating for 1,250 people and 2 courts; for 7 courts total. <br />Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association Complex <br />The Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association plans to build a 180,000-square-foot domed facility in Ramsey, <br />possibly by the end of 2022. The facility would have one and a half indoor turf fields, 8 full-size <br />basketball courts, volleyball courts, batting cages, and a weight training area. Funding would come from <br />charitable gambling and saving the $250,000 the association pays to vendors annually to rent gym and <br />field space. The complex would also be able to host trade shows and it is estimated to draw in as many <br />as 500,000 visitors per year. <br />Forest Lake Fieldhouse <br />The Forest Lake Fieldhouse was recently built in 2017, it's a part of the Forest Lake Area High School. It <br />is roughly the size of a football field containing six basketball/volleyball courts. The facility hosts many <br />sports events as well as gym classes. <br />Andover Community Center <br />The Andover Community Center hosts a variety of different sports programs for all ages including the <br />ACC Open Basketball sessions, ACC Indoor Volleyball, open hockey/open skate, indoor soccer lessons, <br />pickleball lessons, and skating lessons. The facility also has an indoor track, snack/beverage vending <br />machines, and meeting room available for meetings, training events and private parties. In addition, the <br />facility offers a free after school program for middle school students, and high school students are <br />eligible to utilize the field house for open basketball. <br />Rochester Regional Sports Center & National Volleyball Center <br />The Rochester Regional Sports Center is a multi -purpose facility with 44,000-square-feet of competition <br />floor space, and a 1,700-seating capacity. In total, the venue can hold a maximum of six volleyball <br />courts, six basketball courts or sixteen wrestling mats. The National Volleyball Center is a multi -use <br />building that is highly tuned for the sport of volleyball. There are 11 courts within the center and three <br />additional courts in the adjacent Century High School.
