Volatile Organic Compound (VOC): Content of air polluting hydrocarbons in <br />uncured coating products measured in units of grams per liter or pounds per <br />gallon. <br />1.04. SUBMITTALS <br />A. Comply with Section 01 33 00 - Submittal Procedures <br />B. Product Data: <br />1. Submit manufacturer's product data for each coating, including generic <br />description, complete technical data, surface preparation, and application <br />instructions. Include description of physical properties of coatings <br />including solids content and ingredient analysis, VOC content, <br />temperature resistance, typical exposures and limitations, and <br />manufacturer's standard color chips. <br />2. Submit certification that coatings do not contain hazardous materials <br />such as lead, chromium, or other heavy metals. <br />C. Samples: <br />1. Submit manufacturer's color samples showing full range of standard <br />colors. <br />2. Include 8 inch square draw -downs or brush -outs of topcoat finish. Identify <br />each sample as to finish, formula, color name and number and sheen <br />name and gloss units. <br />D. Manufacturer's Quality Assurance: Submit manufacturer's certification that <br />coatings comply with specified requirements and are suitable for intended <br />application. <br />E. Manufacturer's Instructions: Submit in accordance with requirements for Product <br />Data. Include: <br />1. Special requirements for transportation and storage. <br />2. Mixing instructions. <br />3. Shelf life. <br />4. Pot life of material. <br />5. Precautions for applications free of defects. <br />6. Surface preparation. <br />7. Method of application. <br />8. Recommended number of coats. <br />9. Recommended thickness of each coat. <br />10. Recommended total thickness. <br />11. Drying time of each coat, including prime coat. <br />12. Required prime coat. <br />13. Compatible and non -compatible prime coats. <br />14. Recommended thinners, when recommended. <br />15. Limits of ambient conditions during and after application. <br />16. Time allowed between coats. <br />17. Required protection from sun, wind and other conditions. <br />18.
