11 <br />MOUNDS,VIEw <br />Item No: 08A <br />Meeting Date: June 13, 2022 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review: <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9595, Resolution to Approve Mounds View <br />Business License Renewals (Excluding Liquor) and <br />Resolution 9601, Resolution to Approve New Class B <br />Restaurant License for Scott Zimmer, Kusina, 2408 County <br />Road I <br />Introduction <br />In accordance with the Mounds View City Code, certain businesses require annual <br />licensing and City Council approval. The City of Mounds View issued licenses for the <br />businesses in Resolution 9595 (Exhibit A) effective July 1, 2021 and their renewals are <br />before the City Council for consideration. We also have a new restaurant license <br />application before you, Kusina, 2408 County Road I, Resolution 9601. <br />Discussion <br />The City Council approved Ordinance 981 in November 2022, which changed the <br />business license period from July 1-June 30 to January 1-December 31. So that all <br />licenses will coincide with this new expiration date, the licenses in Exhibit A will expire <br />December 31, 2022 and will then run calendar year going forward. Therefore, this <br />license period will be for six months instead of the full 12-month period. License fees <br />were pro -rated accordingly. <br />All applicants have submitted their city business license application materials and the <br />applicable fees, with the exception of Advanced Disposal Services (Garbage/Recycling <br />Hauler). Staff has was finally able to get a response from them and they indicated they <br />would have their renewal to us as soon as possible. <br />The City conducted the following investigations and inspections to determine whether <br />there is cause for the City to consider denial of any of the other businesses shown in <br />Attachment A: <br />Utility Billing Inquiry (City of Mounds View, excluding Garbage/Recycling Haulers) <br />(as of June 9, 2021). <br />The following businesses are delinquent: <br />Luck 's Station <br />2155 County Road H <br />$635.12 <br />Po a e's <br />2213 Mounds View Blvd. <br />$172.51 <br />R.J.
