RESOLUTION 9608 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #26 FOR DRAIN DOWN PIPING MODIFICATIONS AT <br />WATER TREATMENT PLANTS #2 AND #3 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 9201 authorizing Shank <br />Constructors Inc. to perform the Water Treatment Rehabilitation Project at WTP 2 & #3; and <br />WHEREAS, during the warranty period and as the both treatment plants were in <br />operation, the media retaining nozzles on the drain down system, which is part of the back <br />wash system, were clogging; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff requested that AE2S and Shank look into the cause and find a <br />solution to mitigate the problem; and <br />WHEREAS, after meeting in March of 2022, a solution to correct this problem was <br />discussed. AE2S sent a Requested for Pricing (RFP) to Shank for the proposed repairs; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Works received Change Order #26 at a cost of $59,830.00 for <br />work to modify the drain down piping at WTP #2 & #3 from Shank Constructors Inc; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff recommends the City Council approve change order #26 from <br />Shank Constructors Inc. for drain down piping modifications at WTP#2 & #3 for $59,830.00. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. Accepts the Proposal from Shank Constructors Inc. for Change Order #26 with a bid of <br />$59,830.00 for drain down piping modifications at WTP #2 & #3. <br />2. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to contract <br />modifications during construction of the Project on behalf of the City Council as per the <br />Purchasing Policy. <br />3. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and <br />directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order <br />to accomplish the intent of this Resolution. <br />Adopted this 27th day of June, 2022. <br />Carol A.
