RESOLUTION 9612 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FROM CORRECTIVE ASPHALT MATERIALS <br />FOR THE 2022 SEAL COATING PROJECT <br />WHEREAS, the City has a pavement management program that includes city streets, <br />trails, and parking lots; and <br />WHEREAS, Street project area H, City Hall, Public Works, Green Filed Park and <br />Silver View Park Parking Lots in addition to the trail around Silver View Storm Water Pond <br />and the trails along Mound View Boulevard, are due for routine maintenance which would <br />entail a reclamite seal coating for 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff prepared plans, specifications, and bid documents using <br />estimated quantities for the 2022 Seal Coat Project; and <br />WHEREAS, Corrective Asphalt Materials of South Roxana, Illinois submitted the <br />lowest proposal of $96,752.24; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff recommends accepting the bids received from Corrective Asphalt <br />Materials of South Roxana, Illinois, for $96,752.24 along with a 5% contingency of $4,837.60 <br />for quantity over -runs or additional work resulting from unknowns discovered during the <br />project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The bid proposal for $96,752.24 submitted by Corrective Asphalt Materials of South <br />Roxana Illinois, for the 2022 Seal Coat Project (City Project No. 2021-0O2) is hereby <br />approved. <br />2. The City Council a 5% contingency of $4,837.60 for quantity over -runs or additional work <br />resulting from unknowns discovered during the project. <br />3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all <br />appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this Resolution. <br />4. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to quantity over- <br />runs or additional work resulting from unknown conditions discovered during seal coating <br />project up to a combined total of $4,837.60 (5% contingency) on behalf of the City <br />Council. <br />
