pound of methamphetamine was recovered. Within days of that arrest, the Ramsey County <br />VCET Unit executed a Search Warrant at the methamphetamine dealer's home. At the <br />completion of the Search Warrant, a large quantity of methamphetamine and US Currency was <br />recovered. Investigators also recovered a firearm from a co-conspirator which he / she was <br />prohibited from possessing. Three individuals were booked at the Ramsey County LEC for drug <br />and weapons charges. After further investigation, Investigators learned that this DTO was <br />supplying narcotics customers in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Mounds View / New Brighton VCET <br />Investigators began working with the Green Bay Investigators to locate and arrest narcotic <br />suspects from their case that were residing in Minnesota. <br />In August 2021, the Mounds View VCET Investigator and New Brighton VCET Investigator <br />opened a narcotics investigation into a known methamphetamine dealer in the Saint Paul area. <br />After weeks of surveillance, probable cause was obtained and Search Warrants were authorized <br />for his / her premise, vehicle, and person. At the completion of the Search Warrant, a half - <br />pound of methamphetamine was recovered along with numerous firearms which he / she was <br />prohibited from possessing. There was also a large quantity of stolen property found at the <br />address. The methamphetamine dealer was later charged in State Court with 15t Degree <br />Possession and Sale of a Controlled Substance. NOTE: In January 2022, Investigators learned <br />that the same individual was continuing to possess and sell large quantities of <br />methamphetamine in the Twin Cities metro area. Further investigation led to an additional <br />Search Warrant which resulted in the recovery of another pound of methamphetamine and <br />four firearms, two of which were stolen in a Washington County burglary. Investigators also <br />recovered a stolen truck and thousands of dollars' worth of stolen tools. <br />In October 2021, the Mounds View Police Department responded to an "Accident with <br />Injuries". Upon arrival, they observed two individuals on scene that sustained injuries during <br />the cash. While conducting their investigation, they noted that both individuals possessed large <br />quantities of US Currency. They also observed a large quantity of Blue M30 pills (Oxycodone) <br />scattered throughout the vehicle and ground which later totaled 834 pills. Both individuals <br />were released to the hospital pending further investigation. Over the next month, the Mounds <br />View VCET Investigator opened a narcotics investigations into the two individuals, one of which <br />was a Mounds View resident. After weeks of surveillance, probable cause was obtained and <br />Search Warrants were authorized for the search of premises, vehicles, and individuals. At the <br />completion of the Search Warrant, another 1,300 Blue M30 pills were seized from the same <br />individual along with two firearms and nearly $45,000 US Currency. With the assistance of the <br />SPPD Financial crimes unit, another $60,000 US Currency was frozen in numerous bank <br />accounts and await forfeiture. One of the individuals arrested has at least four open narcotic <br />cases throughout the Twin Cities metro all of which involve the possession and/ or sale of Blue <br />M30 Oxycodone pills. <br />The Ramsey County VCET Unit is one of the largest Narcotics & Violent Crime Task Forces in the <br />State of Minnesota. With Minneapolis — Saint Paul being a main narcotic distribution hub within <br />Minnesota, the Ramsey County VCET Unit is often called upon to assist other Task Forces <br />throughout Minnesota and / or United States.
