Resolution 9500 passed on November 22, 2021, allowing staff to begin the <br />recruitment process for a Police Officer. <br />Discussion: <br />Staff conducted a recruitment process for the Police Officer position. The advertisement was <br />posted on the Minnesota POST Board, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the <br />National Minority Update, Police1.com, multiple colleges for interested alumni, the League of <br />Minnesota Cities, and the City's website and social media. Staff received 12 application packets <br />by the deadline and 9 candidates were invited to interview with Police Department personnel and <br />the Human Resources Director. <br />Nina Garcia was selected to advance in the hiring process. Nina Garcia successfully passed the <br />oral board examination, Chief's interview, physical agility testing, police background investigation, <br />pre -employment physical, and required psychological evaluation. Nina Garcia has three and a <br />half years' experience as a Minnesota State Trooper.
