MOUNDS VIEW <br />of Mounds View Staff <br />Item No: 8.A. <br />Meeting Date: March s14, 2022 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9560, Resolution Reestablishing Precincts and <br />Polling Places <br />Introduction: <br />Minnesota State Statute requires precinct boundaries be reestablished within 60 days of when <br />the legislature has been redistricted or at least 19 weeks before the state primary election, <br />whichever comes first. <br />Discussion: <br />The Metropolitan Council released the US Census Bureau housing and population counts from <br />the 2020 Census for the City of Mounds View totaling 13,249. This reflects an increase in <br />population from the 2010 Census of 12,155 (1,094 increase in population). The City continues to <br />have voting capacity at the Mounds View Community Center for Precincts 1,2,3,4. <br />The Senate and House District number has changed <br />Precincts 1,2,3,4 Old Senate 42 New Senate 40 <br />Old House 42A New House 40A <br />Due to the Senate and House District number change, there is potential that residents could have <br />new representation.
