Mounds View City Council February 18, 2022 <br />Special Meeting Page 7 <br />1 listen thoroughly to what they have to say and to their recommendation. She stated she does not <br />2 take her votes on the City Council lightly and when things were recommended to her regarding <br />3 the tax levy, she fully supported Ordinance 984. She thanked the Mayor for summarizing this <br />4 topic so well and she hoped that the City would be able to get this matter resolved in a timely <br />5 manner in order to move the City forward. <br />6 <br />7 Council Member Hull asked if the City has crossed every "T" and dotted every "T% City <br />8 Attorney Riggs reported the City has done what is necessary and has followed the statutory <br />9 framework. He explained the City has put in place the process that would allow for the review <br />10 and adoption of a petition. <br />11 <br />12 City Administrator Zikmund commented the Charter can be amended in a number of ways and <br />13 one of the ways was the Charter Commission could have forwarded the Council an Ordinance <br />14 that went right to petition. He stated the Charter Commission discussed this option and voted on <br />15 this and rejected this option. <br />16 <br />17 Mayor Mueller thanked City Administrator Zikmund for offering this information to the Council. <br />18 She noted she forgot to include this in her summary. <br />19 <br />20 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9553, <br />21 Reaffirming Resolution 9547 regarding a Petition Filed Under Minnesota Statues, Section <br />22 410.12, Subdivision 7. <br />23 <br />24 A roll call vote was taken. <br />25 <br />26 Ayes — 4 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />27 <br />28 7.
