<br />Item No. 6 B <br /> <br /> <br /> B <br />M E M O R A N D U M <br /> <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Don Peterson – Public Works Director <br />Date: August 23, 2018 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />_______________________________________________________________________________ <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Maintenance <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br /> Quit a few irrigation repairs <br /> Turf Restoration City Hall Park by Water Treatment Plant <br /> Painted Groveland Ball Field Benches <br /> Hockey Board Painting at Hillview Park <br /> Working in Fitness area at the MVCC <br /> Prep and tear down for Festival in the Park <br /> Tree and bed mulching around City Hall Park and grounds <br /> <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items this last month: <br /> Continued inspections for Oak Wilt, EAB and Dutch Elm disease <br /> Bid Packets sent out for Tree Removal Contact <br /> Bid Packet sent out for EAB injection Program <br /> <br /> <br />The following projects are planned this year. Current updates are in black text, and updates from <br />the previous two month period are in grey. <br /> <br /> <br />Silver View Park <br />Relocate Disc Golf Course: <br /> Ramsey County started tree removal along County Road I and Silver View Road in order <br />to re-profile the draining ditch on the North and West side of the park. Public Works Staff <br />has received numerous calls with concerns and complaints on the tree removal. <br /> Ramsey County continues to work in re-profiling the draining ditch along County Road I <br />and Silver View Road, located in Silver View Park. <br /> <br />City Hall Campus: <br />Irrigation & Landscaping Improvements: <br /> Playground equipment was approved and ordered. <br /> Received Splash Pad plans, contractor currently reviewing for installation costs. <br /> Continue vision planning <br /> <br />Groveland Park: <br />Tennis/Basketball Court Rehabilitation (Design): <br /> Fred Kolkman working on plans and specs, a couple questions have been asked will be <br />discussed tonight. <br /> City attorney is review the contract documents <br />th <br /> Plans and Specs sent out to contractors – bid opening May 30 at 10:00am. <br /> Tennis Court Rehab Project started Wednesday June 27, 2018 <br /> Asphalt is down, fencing and coating will be completed <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
