Item No: 08A <br />Meeting Date: September 12, 2022 <br />MOUNDS I\TIE%,V Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review: <br />Lity of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9625, Approving the Hire of Alexis Campis-Olalde to the <br />Facilities Maintenance Position (Monday -Friday) <br />Background: <br />On March 28, 2022, Council approved Resolution 9571, which authorized a recruitment process for the <br />Facilities Maintenance position. A candidate was hired, however resigned after six (6) weeks of <br />employment. <br />Discussion: <br />The Facilities Maintenance position was reposted, this time for two (2) positions. The first position will work <br />Monday -Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; the second position will work Tuesday -Saturday 11:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m. <br />Having a second Facilities Maintenance position eliminates the need for two (2) of the three (3) part-time <br />Custodians at the Parks and Recreation Department. Currently there is one (1) part-time Custodian <br />employed. The Human Resource Committee concurred with this decision. <br />Four (4) applications were received for the Facilities Maintenance position and three (3) were invited to <br />interview. The interview panel consisted of Parks and Recreation Superintendent Thomas, Director of <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Peterson, and Human Resource Director Ewald. It was the consensus <br />of the interview panel to recommend Alexis "Alex" Campis-Olalde to the position of Facilities Maintenance. <br />Mr. Campis has similar experience working at a neighboring city. If hired, Mr. Campis would start at Step 1 <br />of the pay scale, $19.54 per hour. He would be on probation for six (6) months, and would report directly to <br />the Parks and Recreation Superintendent.
