Mounds View City Council October 10, 2022 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund explained Mounds View Matters would have an article that discusses <br />the exploration of a Community Center expansion, along with education about the process that is <br />followed. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller asked what the timeline was to receive funding from the State for this project. City <br />Administrator Zikmund reported this project would be on the 2024 bonding bill. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller explained in the past 64 years, the City of Mounds View has never asked for <br />assistance from the State. She commented the Community Center expansion would be a first. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Hull asked if a neighborhood meeting could be held for the street reconstruction <br />project. City Administrator Zikmund explained Schifsky has provided staff with a schedule for the <br />project. He reviewed the proposed timeline in detail with the Council and noted the remainder of <br />the curb would be poured on October 11. The two lifts of asphalt would be installed on October <br />31 and November 7. It was noted the timeline was contingent upon the weather and concrete <br />supply. He noted the contractor was within the timeline for the project. He commented on how the <br />City did not provide utility services and encouraged residents to contact their internet provider if <br />service went out. <br /> <br />Council Member Hull asked if the residents within the project area would receive this new project <br />timeline. City Administrator Zikmund stated he would speak with the Public Works Director about <br />this matter. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause provided the Council with an update from the convention bureau. <br />He stated occupancy rates were up, which was benefiting the entire region. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause noted he would be attending an NYFS Finance Committee meeting <br />next week. <br /> <br />Council Member Cermak stated the K9 Foundation would be meeting on Tuesday, October 11 at <br />5:30 p.m. at Random Park. <br /> <br />Council Member Cermak commented if she talks to people or candidates in passing, she requested <br />that people not quote her. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported the Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on Tuesday, October <br />18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Public Works building. She noted this group was seeking volunteers at this <br />time in order to assist with planning next year’s events. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff.
