Mounds View City Council October 40, 2022 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br />1 9638, Community Center Expansion Exploration — Architectural Services. <br />2 <br />3 City Administrator Zikmund explained Mounds View Matters would have an article that <br />4 discusses the exploration of a Community Center expansion, along with education about the <br />5 process that is followed. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Mueller asked what the timeline was to receive funding from the State for this project. <br />8 City Administrator Zikmund reported this project would be on the 2024 bonding bill. <br />9 <br />10 Mayor Mueller explained in the past 64 years, the City of Mounds View has never asked for <br />1 1 assistance from the State. She commented the Community Center expansion would be a first. <br />12 <br />13 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />14 <br />15 9. REPORTS <br />16 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />17 <br />18 Council Member Hull asked if a neighborhood meeting could be held for the street <br />19 reconstruction project. City Administrator Zikmund explained Schifsky has provided staff with a <br />20 schedule for the project. He reviewed the proposed timeline in detail with the Council and noted <br />21 the remainder of the curb would be poured on October 11. The two lifts of asphalt would be <br />22 installed on October 31 and November 7. It was noted the timeline was contingent upon the <br />23 weather and concrete supply. He noted the contractor was within the timeline for the project. He <br />24 commented on how the City did not provide utility services and encouraged residents to contact <br />25 their internet provider if service went out. <br />26 <br />27 Council Member Hull asked if the residents within the project area would receive this new <br />28 project timeline. City Administrator Zikmund stated he would speak with the Public Works <br />29 Director about this matter. <br />30 <br />31 Council Member Meehlhause provided the Council with an update from the convention bureau. <br />32 He stated occupancy rates were up, which was benefiting the entire region. <br />33 <br />34 Council Member Meehlhause noted he would be attending an NYFS Finance Committee meeting <br />35 next week. <br />36 <br />37 Council Member Cermak stated the K9 Foundation would be meeting on Tuesday, October l l at <br />38 5:30 p.m. at Random Park. <br />39 <br />40 Council Member Cermak commented if she talks to people or candidates in passing, she <br />41 requested that people not quote her. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Mueller reported the Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on Tuesday, <br />44 October 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Public Works building. She noted this group was seeking <br />45 volunteers at this time in order to assist with planning next year's events. <br />
