PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br />Oertel Architects understands that <br />this Community Center project is <br />an extremely exciting prospect for <br />the City of Mounds View and the <br />surrounding community. <br /> <br />This initial step in the greater <br />realization of the ultimate project <br />of designing and constructing the <br />Community Center Expansion is <br />the initial scoping, concept design, <br />and total project cost opinion that <br />is required to demonstrate to the <br />State of Minnesota Legislature that <br />this project deserves state funding <br />to provide this regional community <br />service amenity. <br />Oertel has already performed <br />the preliminary “idea” study for <br />this project. We understand that <br />that initial idea is what facilitated <br />Mounds View City Council to <br />request and execute an economic <br />study of the impact of this facility <br />on the community. In our internal <br />discussions, research, and discussion <br />with city staff in preparation, we <br />understand that the results of <br />that study indicated that this is a <br />facility that would have a significant <br />regional impact on community event <br />planning, athletic competition events, <br />and impact on local and regional <br />businesses. <br />Mounds View’s position within the <br />Twin City Metro Area and the location <br />of this facility within Mounds View <br />would make it an attractive location <br />for events and thus it was determined <br />as a very economically feasible <br />project.
