<br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mounds View City Council will hold a public hearing during its
<br />regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, November 14, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. to consider the first reading of
<br />Ordinance No. 994, an ordinance amending Section 4.02, Subdivisions 1-4, of the City of Mounds View Charter
<br />pertaining to the Filing for Office. The amendments are as follows:
<br />Section 4.02, subdivisions 1-4 of the Mounds View City Charter is hereby amended by adding the double -
<br />underlined language and deleting the Gtricken language as follows:
<br />Subdivision 1. Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 205.13, subd. la, as amended, an affidavit of candidacy for a city
<br />office must be filed within the time frame specified and in accordance with the Statute with the exception that the fee
<br />portion of the Statute shall be superseded by the following: Any resident of the City qualified under state law for
<br />elective office may, by filing an affidavit and by paying a filing fee of $20 or by filing a petition in compliance with
<br />MN Statute 205.13, subd. 4, as amended, to the City Administrator, have their name placed on the municipal election
<br />ballot. (Amended by Ordinance 736, Adopted May 10, 2004, Filed May 19, 2004; Amended by Ord. 759, Adopted
<br />June 13, 2005, Filed June 22, 2005; Amended by Ord. 878, Adopted Feb 11, 2013, Effective May 12, 2013.)

<br />Subdivision 3. Service before January 1, 1995 shall not count toward determining total length of service. (11

<br />Subdivision 24. Severability. If any part of this section shall be declared unconstitutional by court, all others

<br />The public hearing will be held at Mounds View City Hall, 2401 Mounds View Boulevard, Mounds View,
<br />MN 55112. Questions or comments related to the public hearing may be emailed to

<br />submitted through these methods must be received by Monday, November 14, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in order to be
<br />considered during the public hearing to be held later that evening. Please note that any emails, letters and
<br />attachments you send to the city may be public information and city staff may use them in staff reports that go
