EDC Minutes <br />November 18, 2021 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendations for new Commissioners <br />Beeman informed the Commission that there were four applicants for three Business <br />Representative seats and two applicants for one Resident Representative seat. The <br />EDC recommended that Jim Freichels and Jason Helgemoe retain their Business <br />Representative seats for an additional term and Jeff Moritko fulfill the remaining term of <br />Lisa Marquis who resigned. The Commission recommended that Gary Stevenson retain <br />his seat for an additional term as the Resident Representative. <br /> <br />Motion/Second: Commissioner Rundle moved and Commissioner Lindstrom seconded <br />the motion to recommend Jim Freichels, Jason Helgemoe, and Jeff Moritko as the <br />Business Representatives with Jeff Moritko taking over Lisa Marquis’s seat and Gary <br />Stevenson as the Resident Representative. <br /> <br />Motion Carried: 5 Ayes, 0 Nays <br /> <br />7. REPORTS OF STAFF <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Beeman provided an update on approximately a dozen <br />projects happening within the city. <br /> <br />8. REPORTS OF CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause provided an update to the EDC on a potential expansion of <br />the Community Center. The City has hired a consultant to research the feasibility of <br />adding three new gyms and bringing in sporting events in coordination with the Blaine <br />Sports Center. The results should be back in about two months. <br /> <br />9. REPORTS OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Helgemoe encouraged the Commissioners to attend the next Mounds <br />View Business Council meeting at the Community Center December 8, 2021. <br />Commissioner Freichels confirmed Helgemoes statements. No other Commissioners <br />had reports. <br /> <br />10. NEXT REGULAR EDC MEETING <br /> <br />The Commission will not meet in December but Beeman reminded the Commission of <br />the upcoming January and February meetings. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
