Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause indicated he would be attending an NYFS Board of Directors <br />meeting on Thursday, October 27. He reported he would be attending a Twin Cities Gateway <br />Finance Committee meeting on Thursday, November 4. <br /> <br />Council Member Cermak stated the Mounds View Police Foundation would be meeting on <br />Tuesday, November 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Random Park. She commented on the upcoming coat drive <br />and thanked all of the residents who would be participating. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller stated Abiding Savior Church would be hosting a Trick or Trunk event on <br />Saturday, October 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller commented on the Mayor for a Day essay contest that was being sponsored by the <br />League of Minnesota Cities. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reported the Festival in the Park Committee met last Tuesday and discussed plans <br />for next year’s festival. She encouraged residents to considering volunteering to assist with <br />planning this great community event. She stated the Festival in the Park Committee would meet <br />next on Tuesday, November 15 at the Public Works Facility. <br /> <br /> B. Reports of Staff. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated he would be having lunch with the NYFS Executive Director <br />tomorrow. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund explained the SBM Fire Chief hiring process was moving forward at <br />this time and final interviews would be held on Wednesday, October 26. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund reported he would be drafting an article for Mounds View Matters <br />regarding the Community Center expansion exploration. <br /> <br />City Administrator Zikmund commented five staff members met with Polco, which was a <br />community survey company. He stated staff would be meeting with an additional survey company <br />and would report back to the Council at a future worksession meeting on this topic. He estimated <br />a community survey would cost $8,000 to $10,000. He reported most neighboring communities <br />were completing community surveys every three to five years. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller encouraged residents to participate in the General Election, which would be held <br />on Tuesday, November 8. <br /> <br />C.
