RESOLUTION NO. 9680 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FOR <br />DEPUTY CHIEF BENJAMIN ZENDER TO WORK IN HIGHER JOB CLASSIFICATION <br />WHEREAS, Chief Nate Harder remains on a leave of absence due to a work related injury; and <br />WHEREAS, Investigator Jeremy Hellpap served as Acting Chief while Deputy Chief Benjamin <br />Zender was attending out of state training. Deputy Chief Zender has returned and agreed to serve as Acting <br />Chief for the remainder of Chief Harder's leave beginning December 14, 2022, returning Investigator <br />Hellpap to his regular Investigator duties effective December 14, 2022; and <br />WHEREAS, during Chief Harder's absence, Deputy Chief Zender agreed to cover higher job <br />classification responsibilities, while maintaining his own job duties as the Deputy Chief; and <br />WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Zender earns Step 5 of the Pay Plan, staff suggests placing Acting Chief <br />Zender at Step 3 of the Chief wage as of December 14, 2022, where he will receive an incentive for <br />providing coverage of both positions during the Chiefs absence; and <br />WHEREAS, when Chief Harder returns to full-time active duty and Acting Chief Zender returns to <br />the position of Deputy Chief, Deputy Chief Zender will return to the position at Step 5 of the Deputy Chief <br />Pay Plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council approves: <br />1. Returning Acting Chief Hellpap to position and prior compensation of Investigator effective <br />December 14, 2022. <br />2.
