Item No: 08M <br />Meeting Date: December 12, 2022 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />City Administrator Review: <br />of Mounds View Staff R <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Nyle Zikmund, City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9676, Resolution Approving MNDOT Contract <br />allowing federal participation in federal transportation aid. <br />Introduction: <br />The State of Minnesota provides direct transportation aid as well as federal aid for <br />transportation. This contract with the Minnesota Department of Transportation is renewed <br />every 5 years and enables the use of Federal Funds in communities throughout the State. <br />Discussion: <br />In the past, Mounds View has received $40,000 in federal aid and it is anticipated that <br />more aid be forthcoming in future years. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Transportation is directly related to our Vision Statement; <br />"...welcoming a desirable destination to all ages and cultures ... and a place where residents <br />can live, work and play safely" and by approving the license renewals the City will <br />"....maintain a positive business climate where businesses want to locate and remain in <br />Mounds View". <br />Financial Impact: None. <br />Recommendation: Staff is recommending that the Council approve Resolution 9676 <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Nyle Zikmund <br />City Administrator <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
