Mounds View Planning Commission November 17, 2021 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Commissioner Stevenson asked who would be paying the park dedication fees. Community <br />Development Director Sevald reported the City’s plan was to sell a small portion of land to <br />BioClean and the remainder would be sold to MWF. He explained with the subdivision park <br />dedication would be paid by the apartment developer in the amount of $420,000 and BioClean <br />would pay $5,600. <br /> <br />Commissioner Farmer stated this would be a great contribution to the City’s park dedication <br />fund. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Commissioner Nelson/Commissioner Stevenson. To approve Resolution <br />1143-21, a Resolution Recommending Approval of the Intent of the Mounds View Economic <br />Development Authority to Sell Land at 4889 Old Highway 8 and 4943 Old Highway 8. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />6. Reports <br /> <br />A. Upcoming Planning Cases & Activity <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sevald stated he currently had no open planning cases. He <br />requested the Commission set a meeting calendar for 2022. He indicated there had been a <br />request to move the meetings up from 7:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Commissioner Farmer/Commissioner Stevenson. To recommended the <br />Planning Commission meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. for 2022. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nay – 1 (French opposed) Motion carried. <br /> <br />B. Staff Updates <br /> <br />Community Development Director Sevald provided the Commission with an update from staff. <br />He reported the EDA and City Council would be reviewing the Skyline property redevelopment <br />on Monday, November 22. <br /> <br />C. Council Updates <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause provided the Planning Commission with an update from the City <br />Council. He reported the new apartment complex on the Skyline property would be a great <br />addition to the community. He discussed a feasibility study the City was completing regarding a <br />potential expansion to the Community Center. He commented on how the City was working with <br />Al Stauffacher with Twin Cities Gateway to draw more people to the community for sporting <br />events. He noted the City was also working with the Libby Law Firm to assist with lobbying for <br />State funding for the potential expansion of the Community Center. <br />
