For the full <br />map, see page 2B-38. <br />Analysis Details and Data <br />■ <br />The methods used for the Level of Traffic Stress Analysis were adapted from the <br />2012 Mineta Transportation Institute (MTI) Report 11-19: Low -Stress Bicycling and <br />Network Connectivity.4 The approach outlined in the MTI report uses roadway <br />network data including — posted speed limit, the number of travel lanes, and the <br />presence and character of bicycle lanes — as a proxy for bicyclist comfort level. <br />Road segments are classified into one of four levels of traffic stress based on these <br />factors. <br />The lowest level of traffic stress 1 (LTS 1), is assigned to roads that would be tolerable <br />for most children to ride and to multi -use paths that are separated from motorized <br />traffic. Level of traffic stress 2 (LTS 2) roads are those that could be comfortably <br />ridden by the mainstream adult population. <br />2B-14 I SYSTEM ANALYSIS <br />
