PARKS AND RECREATION AND FORESTRY COMMISSION <br />AM <br />6:30 P.M. I OCTOBER 28, 2021 1 MOUNDS VIEW CITY HALL <br />MEETING MINUTES MDZNDS LWEN <br />1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:33 PM <br />2. ROLL CALL: Commissioners: A-eI, Curry, Kroeger, Lillemo, Palm, Sullivan,Wake Wiesner, <br />Staff: Peterson I Thomas <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2"d by Wake Wiesner. Motion Passed <br />6-0 <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 23, 2021 Meeting Minutes. Motion to approve by Wake <br />Wiesner, 2nd by Curry. Motion Passed 6-0 <br />5. PUBLIC INPUT <br />Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight's agenda. Before speaking, please give your full <br />name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present <br />6. STAFF REPORTS <br />A. Parks and Recreation — See attached report. <br />B. Public Works — Don- See attached report. <br />7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Random Park Playground — Looked at options from St. Croix Recreation ($140K) and <br />Minnesota Wisconsin Playgrounds ($135,577). Both have similar features. No swings, but a <br />zip line, and does include the concrete. It will not have room for the climbing wall or merry- <br />go-round from City Hall park. Motion by Palm, 21 by Lillemo to recommend the <br />proposal from Minnesota Wisconsin Playground to replace the playground at <br />Random Park in 2022 in colors blue and green to City Council at a cost of $135,677. <br />Motion Passed 6-0. <br />8. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Review applications for Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission — (3 seats). <br />Looking at the candidate applications. Motion by Kroeger, 2"d by Sullivan to recommend <br />applicants 2 and 3 to fill two of the seats available to the Commission. Motion Passed 6-0. <br />Motion by Kroeger, 2"d by Palm to recommend existing Commissioner, Kris Lillemo, <br />keep his seat if he submits his application. Motion Passed 5-0, Lillemo abstain. <br />9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS- 1) Change clocks back in November and check smoke detector <br />batteries. 2) Where are we at with the books in the park walking tour? Last meeting we <br />discussed getting the Girl Scouts involved. 3) Remember to vote on November 2! <br />10. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS: Next year's recreation <br />programs, gaga ball. <br />11. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn at 7:40 PM by Lillemo, 2"d by Sullivan.
