Mounds View City Council February 13, 2023 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br />1 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson read a Resolution in full for the record <br />2 recognizing Colleen Sullivan for her dedicated service on the Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />3 Commission. <br />4 <br />5 Colleen Sullivan thanked the Council for this recognition. She stated she enjoyed participating in <br />6 City government and learning about the community. A round of applause was offered by all in <br />7 attendance. <br />8 <br />9 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9697, <br />10 Appreciation for Colleen Sullivan for her Service on the Parks, Recreation and Forestry <br />11 Commission. <br />12 <br />13 Ayes — 5 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />14 <br />15 B. Resolution 9698, Appreciation for Dan Larson for his Service on the Economic <br />16 Development Commission. <br />17 <br />18 This item was removed from the agenda. <br />19 <br />20 C. John Connelly — Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce. <br />21 <br />22 John Connelly, President of Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce, introduced himself to the <br />23 Council and thanked them for their time. He explained the vision for the Chamber was to promote <br />24 business, development and connect communities. He noted the Chamber currently had just over <br />25 300 members from seven different cities. He reported the Chamber had a healthy fund balance <br />26 with five months reserves and no debt. He encouraged the Council to consider attending an <br />27 upcoming program or event. He thanked Assistant City Administrator Beeman, Councilmember <br />28 Meehlhause and Councilmember Cermak for attending events on behalf of the City of Mounds <br />29 View. He commented on the makeup of the nine member Chamber Board. He then discussed the <br />30 new initiatives the Chamber was pursuing which included the manufacturing cohort. He <br />31 commented on the Chamber opportunities noting he enjoyed participating in grand openings, <br />32 engaging in new initiatives, bringing important items to businesses and sharing vital news with the <br />33 community. He thanked Mounds View for being an inviting City for the community and its <br />34 businesses. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Hull thanked Mr. Connelly for his presentation. <br />37 <br />38 8. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />39 A. Resolution 9703, Approving and Authorization for a Memorandum of <br />40 Agreement with Rice Creek Watershed District Regarding Inspection and <br />41 Maintenance of Public Drainage Systems. <br />42 <br />43 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve and authorize <br />44 a Memorandum of Agreement with Rice Creek Watershed District Regarding Inspection and <br />45 Maintenance of Public Drainage Systems. He commented on the work that needed to be done on <br />46 the ditch system and recommended approval of the agreement. <br />
