SAINT PAUL REFUSE SERVICE CONTRACT <br />THIS CONTRACT, made and entered into this day of, 1989, by and <br />between the CITY OF SAINT PAUL, a municipal corporation in the county of Washington, <br />herein referred to as "City," and SAINT PAUL REFUSE, INC., a Minnesota Cooperative, <br />herein referred to as "SPRI." <br />RECITALS: <br />WHEREAS, City requires the collection and disposal of garbage and rubbish, <br />compost, and recyclables (collectively hereafter identified as "Waste Materials") from <br />residences in the city of Saint Paul; <br />WHEREAS, SPRI is engaged in the business of collecting and disposing Waste <br />Materials; and <br />WHEREAS, the City desires to hire the services of SPRI and SPRI desires to provide <br />the services to the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed by and between the parties: <br />1. Term. <br />1.1. Five Years. Subject to Paragraph 1.2 hereafter, this Contract shall be in full <br />force and effect for the period beginning, 19 and <br />ending ,19 <br />1 .2. Renewal. At the conclusion of this period, it is expected that the parties will <br />wish to renew this Contract for additional five (5) year terms. Negotiation <br />for said renewal shall begin six (6) months prior to the end of the term set forth <br />in Paragraph 1.1. <br />2. General Description of Services. <br />2.1. Services. SPRI shall supply all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to <br />make a complete collection of Refuse from all Residential Dwelling Units as <br />defined hereinafter in the City of Saint Paul at least once in each calendar <br />week during the term of this Contract and convey the waste Materials to a <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency approved disposal facility. <br />2.2. Route. Collection service shall be provided over the agreed -upon routes <br />shown on Exhibit B hereto. These routes are designed to provide an efficient <br />system and to minimize multiple vehicle movement along city streets. <br />
