properties, unless other provisions are allowed by the City due to special site <br />conditions. <br />5.4 Exemptions from service by a licensed hauler shall only occur in accordance with <br />Mounds View Code Chapter 603.02 Subd. 2, and shall be at the sole discretion of the <br />City. Examples of alternate disposal methods to qualify for exemption from service <br />may include: <br />♦ Written permission to dispose of garbage in a neighbor's garbage cart <br />(shared service); or <br />♦ Use of a commercial dumpster owned or leased for use by a commercial <br />property. (This commercial property may be owned or leased by the <br />applicant, or the applicant may be an employee who has written permission <br />from his/her employer to use the employer's commercial dumpster.) ; or <br />♦ Self -hauling garbage to an approved transfer station or processing facility. <br />The City shall arrange for regular verification of proper disposal of garbage and waste. <br />Evidence of improper garbage or waste disposal shall be reason to immediately require <br />weekly removal of garbage. <br />The form to request exemption from service by a licensed hauler is attached to this <br />document as Appendix A. <br />The City of Mounds View shall have sole discretion to grant or not grant an exemption <br />request. The City shall arrange for regular verification of proper disposal of garbage <br />and waste at the property for which the request for exemption from garbage service is <br />made. Evidence of improper garbage or waste disposal shall be reason to immediately <br />require service by a licensed garbage hauler. <br />6 Residential Garbage Collection by Licensed Garbage <br />Hauler <br />Garbage collection by licensed haulers (excluding On -Call Roll -Off Haulers) shall <br />occur once per week, on Thursdays only, except when Thursday is a legal holiday. In <br />the case of a holiday, the collection will occur the following business day. Slight <br />schedule changes may be made, with sufficient advance notice by the hauler for adverse <br />weather conditions or other. <br />7 Multiple -Unit Solid Waste Standards <br />7.1 Each property must provide for the separation of recyclables, yard waste, bulky waste, <br />and other items designated in these standards from garbage, and shall ensure the <br />appropriate processing or disposal of all solid waste in accordance with Minnesota <br />statutes and county policies. <br />City Of Mounds View • 9 <br />Solid Waste and Recycling Standards <br />
