Emily Hunt from Ramsey County Elections – February 7, 2022 Conversation with Rayla and Nyle
Rayla and Nyle
Sharing conversation with Brian Amundsen from last week
Brian and Val called the office Friday – had a few questions, they chatted about what they had used for a petition template. What they followed to create the petition is in Statue but
not in the Rules section Ramsey County follows and they cited in their sufficiency. Brian/Val talked about the form and how the State has advised how they use the form. They understood
that, but they insist the form they have followed is the appropriate one they have filed.

Emily stated they cannot overturn the notice, totally OK to turn to the cities, and have the city review the petition in light of the statutes Brian/Val followed. Ramsey County does
not know what the purpose of the petition is; general ballot question, charter amendment or other. They would have to go to the city as the county would not have input onto the question.

She requested Mounds View updates them on any changes, ordinances, charter, etc.
