SKATE PARK PROJECT

MEETING NOTICE
Mounds View Community Center
5394 Edgewood Drive
Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 6:30 p.m.

The City of Mounds View invites all interested parties to attend a public informational meeting on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mounds View Community Center, located at
5394 Edgewood Drive, across from City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to present the idea of constructing a skate park in Mounds View and to solicit input, comments, and suggestions
from the public – Your input will be critical to the success of this project!

For the past year, the Parks and Recreation Commission have been discussing and researching the development of a skate park in Mounds View. The Commission has studied the development
of skate parks in other communities and has visited several metro area sites.

The first step in creating a skate park is to determine a site. At this time, the Commission is recommending that the basketball courts on the east side of the Community Center be converted
into a skate park. However, the details on what the park will consist of and how it will operate will need to be determined.

Your comments and suggestions are needed to ensure that this project is a success. The Commission is requesting input from; residents, skate park users, and interested parties to help
develop the park. If you are a young adult who is into skating or if you know of someone who is, we ask for, and would appreciate, your assistance in designing and developing this park.
Your comments will be used to develop a proposal that will be presented to City Council in late March / early April. If the proposal is approved by City Council, the skate park would
be constructed in late spring of this year.

If you cannot attend the meeting, your written comments are greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Greg Lee Telephone Number: 763-717-4051
Public Works Director Fax Number: 763-784-3462
Email: greg.lee@ci.mounds-view.mn.us
