<br />The first census taken in Mounds View was in 1960. As can be seen by Table 2, Mounds View’s
<br />population has grown from 6413 in 1960 to 12,738 in 2000. The Metropolitan Council estimates that
<br />Mounds View’s population will decrease to 12,200 in 2010 and 2020. Table 3 shows that the
<br />population of Mounds View is aging. The median age of the population has increased from 20.9 in
<br />1970 to 33.5 in 2000.
