The <br /> established residential land use pattern should be maintained and enhanced to provide a quality <br /> environment for all density conditions and for all housing types. Within this context, low-density <br /> single-family detached neighborhoods are to be preserved.However,in order to provide additional <br /> housing opportunities and to ensure environmental quality,medium-density single-family attached <br /> housing should be introduced to provide a transition between these neighborhoods and existing or <br /> new higher intensity multifamily or commercial uses. This should be done in appropriate areas <br /> through redevelopment of individual parcels or through larger mixed use planned unit developments. <br /> 37 <br />
