City of Mounds View Comprehensive Plan <br /> Vacancy Rates <br /> Vacancy rates are low. There is one vacant four-plex and no vacant single-family <br /> dwellings. The multiple family vacancy rate is approximately 1.5%. <br /> Subsidized Housing <br /> There are currently 241 subsidized rental units in Mounds View. Subsidized units comprise 16 <br /> percent of the total rental units in Mounds View. The following is a listing and type of the <br /> subsidized units in Mounds View: <br /> Housing Assistance <br /> Section 8 Vouchers: 75 multi and single family Metro HRA Section 8 Units (city wide) <br /> Housing Development <br /> Low Income Housing Tax Credits <br /> Silver Lake Pointe: 76 unit senior housing complex <br /> Silver Lake Commons: 50 Apartment/Townhome units <br /> Section 202 <br /> Wildwood Manor: 40 unit senior housing complex. <br /> Affordable Housing <br /> As can be seen from Table 14 on page 51,31 %of the housing units in Mounds View are affordable <br /> according to the 1990 Census.Mounds View has the fifth highest ranking of all the communities in <br /> Ramsey County.Mounds View's percentage of affordable units is higher than the region as a whole <br /> but less than Ramsey County as a whole. <br /> Table 15 on page 52 shows statistics provided by the Metropolitan Council relating to several <br /> housing indicators. The table compares Mounds View to the fully developed area as well as the <br /> suburban communities in the sector north of St. Paul. These statistics show that Mounds View <br /> exceeds the fully developed area and the sector for percentage of housing affordable to low income <br /> families,percentage of homestead valuations under$115,000,and for percentage of rental units with <br /> gross rents under $500 a month. <br /> 48 <br />
